“The first time I met Lwena I was taken aback by her beauty and radiant smile but what really struck me was something deeper; I had assumed that she was Portuguese and when I expressed this, she fixed me with a steely look - one eyebrow raised - and declared 'I am Angolan and I am proud of my African heritage!'
